The following message was posted to: dance-tech Hello, we have done some work in that direction last year during a workshop here in the Mostra de Videodansa in Barcelona. We were using a motion tracking system developed by STT and owned by the university which allows to track up to two dancers in a small (4x4m) space. We then used a software called Filmbox (www.kaydara.com), to modify in real time (still a bit complicated) or in postproduction 3 dimensional spaces and audio material based on the movement of the dancers there is a (very poorly kept) site about the experiment http://www.tecn.upf.es/dansatec/index.html Right now, we are developing a project which will use human movement as an input for the manipulation of a digital architectural space. For that we are working together with digital architect Sonia Scilliari, and are developing some specific wireless hardware which will use accelerometers for the user (or performer) to input data in the system and modify the projected 3d space. If you want more info about the tools, do not hesitate to contact us.
