CYBORG DREAMING
a special commission
for the Science Museum London
new Wellcome Gallery
by Electronic Dance Theatre.

28 - 30 December 2000
Performances begin at 12.30 & 16.00 each day

EDT return to London with a special commission for The Science Museum
featuring their Bodycoder System which is a sensor array designed to be worn
on the body of a dancer which enables real-time, generative and navigational
control of audio and visual elements in a piece of live performance.
Sensors on the joints of the dancer send electrical signals via radio to an
assortment of computer terminals hosting software packages which can be
accessed and manipulated remotely by the dancer during the performance.

EDT, who rarely perform in London, are among a number of specialised dance &
new technology companies who have made serious inroads into the development
of sensitive and reliable hardware for 'interactive' as opposed to
'interpassive' live performance work, and have actively interrogated the
newly emerging performance aesthetic.

Cyborg Dreaming is a live dance performance which features real-time
granular synthesis and sampling processes via MSP in conjunction with
video/data projection using real-time visual processing and image
manipulation.
